Knowing the Neighborhood
There are several neighborhoods in Center City and each one is a gem in their own right. Museums, shopping, dining, and entertainment are plentiful in whichever neighborhood you choose. The best quality of the area is the sense of community you get while at the same time being at the heart of everything. The quality of life one has here is excellent.
Center City Philadelphia condos, homes, and lofts are situated all over its numerous neighborhoods. If you opt to be surrounded by valuable insight, trinkets, and remembrance of the past, you'll be right at home in Olde City. Best known for Elfreth's Alley which is a National Historic Landmark, Olde City also has many art galleries and restaurants which are favorite haunts of the artsy crowd. People who live in this neighborhood are very pleased to reside in their picturesque homes.
A slice of chic Center City real estate awaits you in Rittenhouse Square. Trendy shops stand side by side with 19th century homes, newer high-rises, and posh hotels. Some of the priciest Philadelphia properties are found in this neighborhood. Almost equally as expensive but a newer community is the Avenue of the Arts. So-called because of the theaters and concert halls housed in its boundaries, fans of cultural experiences will fit right in here.
No downtown will be complete without a Chinatown, almost every city in the world is bound to have one. Walking beneath the Friendship Arch at 10th and Arch Streets, one is transported to an Asian destination that still has that Philly undertone. Some of the other neighborhoods of Center City are Penn's Landing, Society Hill, Market East, Jeweler's Row, Washington Square West, and the Museum District.
