Welcome to Center City
In every major city, there is a place where business and pleasure converge, a place where life seems to move in such a hurried pace that at times you can't seem to keep up. The streets are busy, people walk with their coffee and bagel to go, and it's a rush to clock-in at work.
The same feeling, though more pleasant, radiates in downtown Philadelphia. Real estate here is often not on the market for long because of the demand to live in Center City. And it is a demand not only fueled by those who work here, but also by families who want to settle in this excellent area. Sure, it is downtown but the aura of the community isn't that of your typical busy district.
The Delaware River, South Street, Spring Garden Street, and Schuylkill River delineate the boundaries of Philadelphia's downtown. Center City, as the section of town is called, is the navel of Philadelphia. You can pretty much say that it's Philly's very own soul.
Although Center City is where you'll find the Central Business District, there's a lot more to do here than just work. In fact, this section of Philadelphia is an excellent place to settle down, whether you are single, married, or have kids. A testimonial to this fact are the 88,000 or so residents who call this place home. Recreational opportunities abound as there are parks where you can walk, paddle a boat, and be cultured in several museums. Taking life in stride is a staple to Philadelphia living.
